What type of product

Boplats Syd & Uppsala bostadsförmedling are municipal housing agencies with regional mandate. Boplats Syd is wholly owned by the City of Malmö and aims to create an efficient rental market, promote housing supply, and facilitate access to the housing market.

Uppsala Bostadsförmedling’s mission is to mediate rental apartments from private and municipal landlords in the Uppsala region. We work to contribute to the region’s long-term and sustainable development.

The problems

1. There is a need to simplify and streamline various parts of the website to make content easier to scan and provide users with a clearer overview. It’s also important to ensure that key processes, such as how to apply for housing, are clearly explained.

Although there are certain limitations in the underlying systems that manage the site’s content, we should aim to clarify, update, and improve as much as possible within those constraints. Additionally, new functionality may be required to make large amounts of information scalable, while maintaining a user-friendly and accessible experience throughout the site.

The solution

Break down the entire standard pages and create and evaluate different test such as A/B tests, card sorting and surveys. Look on every part to see how we can redesign and improve functionality. Create wireframes and components with examples to show the team and the evaluate. Make every part fit together as a whole. Make responsive design and create wireframes and prototypes for both desktop, iPad and mobile.

– Use of HotJar tool for gathering insights
– Showcase the result to the teams
– Create wireframes
– Create user-flows
– Create prototypes for a realistic movement of the page
– Create presentations of all above and gather feedback of which version is most enjoyable.
– New presentation for the teams with the results
– Final version is set and now ready for production.
– Handover to devteam where I go through the entire project again and to showcase the latest changes and the final version.
